Gallery Coffee Shop

In downtown Curitiba, Brazil, this gallery coffee shop is located inside an art gallery. Previously a storage area, the space was converted into a café to offer meals during the day, and to host art events in the evenings. The project is comprised of a kitchen, gift shop, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. In the narrow, enclosed space, the design is defined by a long programmatic wall with white finishes that evoke no saturation, hierarchy, or visual distinction. This free continuity of light throughout the surfaces and spaces creates a blank yet flexible backdrop for the many uses of the gallery.
