This revitalization of five vacant houses in Kingston, NY, transforms the properties into energy-efficient homes for first-time, low- to moderate-income buyers. These buildings, in various states of disrepair, will undergo complete gut renovations. The focus is on making sustainability affordable — designing for long-term resilience, dignity, and ownership.

The design is informed by Kingston's rich architectural heritage and the distinct character of its diverse neighborhoods. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, each home responds to its surrounding context, reinforcing the city's unique identity while contributing to the ongoing revitalization of its historic districts.
